April 11th, actor Taylor Lautner and girlfriend Tay Dome attended DAOU Vineyard's the "Soul of a Lionfish" dinner at Pendry San Diego's premier dining spot, Lionfish.
Lionfish, Modern Coastal Cuisine, helmed by Chef JoJo Ruiz, recently received its James Beard Smart Catch Leader Accolade as well. The restaurant offers modern coastal cuisine that features fresh-catch cooking and seasonal ingredients, all prepared with innovative twists. The menu, featuring both sustainable seafood and prime meats, toys with guest’s tastebuds with its casual, yet complex offerings.
For last night's "Soul of a Lionfish" dinner, on the cuisine side, Chef Ruiz highlighted the wines with a Uni Creme Brulee Tart, Shrimp Toast, Baja Stripped Sea-Bass Tar Tar, Roasted Bone on Lamb T Bone with Beets and Berries Marmalade in Peppercorn Sauce sided by Mustard Greens. Dessert consisted of a Hazelnut Chocolate Mouse with Toffee Crunch and White Chocolate Raspberry Sorbet.
The five course wine dinner included the DAOU Rose, RSV Chardonnay, Soul of A Lion Red Blend, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Katherine DAOU of DAOU Vineyards + Winery hosted the dinner which featured the customized food pairings by Lionfish's Executive Chef Ruiz.
Following dinner the group enjoyed a night cap at Oxford Social Club, Clique Hospitality's premiere nightspot at Pendry San Diego.
